Andy Joseph

Andy is a highly motivated security and training professional with a proven track record, which includes a very successful military career followed by 16 years of Middle East regional experience. He is a person who understands the complexities of working within and managing a multicultural team and harnessing complementary skills and capabilities into one clear focus to deliver key critical products and objectives.
In 2015, Andy began working for the UAE Critical Infrastructure and Coastal Protection Authority (CICPA) based in Abu Dhabi, as a senior training analyst. Andy’s responsibilities included advising and training members of UAE Border Guard, Coast Guard and specialist security units.
Andy, returned to the UK in June 2021 and to date engages in Security, risk mitigation and training on a consultancy basis.
Andy was born and brought up in the UK. He enjoyed a very successful career in the UK Military firstly spending 5 years in the Parachute Regiment and latterly 18 years in the Royal Military Police (RMP). During his time, he saw active service in Northern Ireland, Bosnia, Kosovo and the Gulf. During the last 18 years of service, Andy has worked on a variety of specialist roles that have included Close Protection Operations having regularly deployed globally as a Close Protection officer on both Military teams and on behalf of the Foreign and Commonwealth office (FCO) to provide CP to Ambassadors and other senior diplomatic staff deemed to be under threat. As well as having spent extended periods employed as a Close Protection and Security Instructor at the prestigious RMP Close Protection Unit, Longmoor. At the end of his tenure with the RMP, Andy’s last appointment was the head of a team that provided training and advice to members of the military prior to deploying globally on operations in subjects such, the use of force (including the use of firearms-judgemental shooting, etc).
After leaving the Military in 2005, Andy spent a total of 16 years living and working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which included regular visits to neighbouring GCC countries conducting risk assessments and CP roles. He was based both in Abu Dhabi & Dubai. Initially employed for ten years by the Presidential Guard Advising the Director of Operations and Training and Operational units in Close Protection and Security related matters. This included:
▪ Responsibility for assisting in the design, planning and implementation of CP and training according to specific syllabus criteria and instructions ensuring, relevant, realistic, demanding, and safe training.
▪ Advising on logistical procurement of special to role equipment including technical solutions, where capability gaps exist, thus providing input into the scope of any operational requirement for new specialist equipment.
▪ Giving instruction and conducting training across the spectrum of CP/VIPP and Security related training and operations, thereby ensuring Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) targets were met.
