Zaf Mughal

Zaf is an experienced and dedicated individual who has over three decades of comprehensive law enforcement and policing experience in London.
Other roles have included Chief Inspector for police officer recruitment and operational lead for the development of the Police Recruitment and Promotions Assessment Centre. In his last role with the Metropolitan Police, Zaf reviewed and progressed findings of the Manchester Arena Terrorist Attack, and its implications on London.
In parallel Zaf was a public order and firearms commander, and for 16 years a part of the public order intelligence team.
He has a strong track record in a range of domains & leadership roles that include protective security, operations, public order, investigations, aviation, project management, risk management and partnership working, as well as volume recruitment and HR function experience.
Though his career he has received several commendations and multiple public letters of appreciation. He is the holder of three Queen Jubilee medals, as well as the long service and good conduct and Kings Coronation Medals.
As a counter terrorism security coordinator, he has held pivotal roles in many unique and challenging environments, such as the large public events, concerts, and sporting events, to the protection of iconic locations and buildings, as well as senior dignitaries and member of the royal families from the UK and abroad.
Zaf has significant aviation and airport experience having held several key roles. He was the emergency services security lead for the Heathrow Expansion Programme. Additionally, he has sent time as the contingency planning, partnership, and training lead, lead operational firearm teams providing 24/7 aviation security, as well as lead to develop Cargo operations, working with operators, airlines, international agencies and the home office.
